If you haven’t been tempted already, it probably won’t be long until you’re putting the heating back on. If you live in Mid Sussex you’ll want to know about the Heat for Health scheme. It’s aimed at households with someone over 65, or under 5 years of age, and it’s worth knowing about as you may be eligible for boiler replacements, insulation or secondary glazing.
They also provide information about national initiatives such as the Smart Meter rollout. Heat for Health are holding a free advice session so do find out more. Just go along to Burgess Hill Library on Tuesday 15 November, 10.00am to 2.00pm, no need to book. For further information phone 01444 477191 or email heat@midsussex.gov.uk. There are various energy saving initiatives through Brighton & Hove Council (contact 0300 123 1234) and East Sussex Council offers a free Winter Home Check service (0800 085 1674). It’s also really important to be giving your boiler and heating system regular overhauls, and especially good to do it before the wintery weather descends. If you would like to have your boiler and heating system serviced ready for winter do call Home & Company and we can arrange for one of our plumbers to contact you.
