Briar is a support worker, and has also worked for many years as an office manager for a variety of organisations. She has a young family and enjoys walks and pottering in the garden. She loves cinema and is never happier than when she has a good book on the go!

Beth grew up in Brighton, and has returned following long stints in Cornwall and Kent! She has run her own housekeeping company and is currently studying to be a counsellor. She loves to travel, just so long as she isn’t away from her children and grandchildren for too long.

Beccy moved from Hove to Lancing a few years ago to gain a garden and is now an enthusiastic vegetable grower. She has also embarked on cold water swimming and swims in all seasons. She spent many years working for a well known airline, but enjoys working on terra firma these days!

Julia has been supporting people in the community for many years. She has four grown up children and enjoys looking after her grandchildren regularly. In her spare time she loves to travel, garden and bake, in that order!

Caroline lives in Brighton with her young family. She is a filmmaker by profession and now works part-time as an editor. She speaks french, and loves to travel. She can often be found sea swimming alongside her dog!

Lisa is a holistic therapist by profession. She adores her rural home where she is busy bringing up her young family. Whenever possible you’ll find her out walking on the Downs or by the beach, although she reckons a good dose of fun and laughter does wonders for her wellbeing!

Manda runs creativity workshops and teaches french and spanish to children. She also has experience of using her creative skills in therapeutic settings. Manda loves drawing, making art and music. She lives with her family and their much loved dog, Elsie.

Anita moved from London to Brighton in the early 2000’s to be near the sea and nature. She is a nurse by background, and also a homeopath with a great interest in holistic health. She loves walking and sea-swimming, cooking, reading and has a keen interest in astrology and astronomy to boot.

Izzie has been supporting adults in the community for twenty years in and around Sussex. She has also worked as an animal welfare officer and absolutely loves animals. She is a dab hand at gardening too and these days splits her times between gardening and supporting people in their homes.

Jessica lives in Brighton with her young family and dog. She loves all things arty, and after art school worked in window dressing. She now makes fabulous feather artworks and jewellery, and has been part of the Open House trail for many years.

Siobhan has worked as a nanny for many years. She lives with her family and cocker spaniel, Lena. She loves the great outdoors and has competed in several running races. She also enjoys gardening, long walks and holidaying in their caravan.

Amanda runs a well-being company using nature and laughter, and also does chocolate making. She and her Jack Russell, Belle, come as a pair. Belle is a ‘Canine Concern’ doggie and loves giving companionship to those missing a dog in their lives.

Caroline has always loved worked with people whether that be as cabin crew, working in cafes or flower arranging for businesses. She’s at her happiest out walking the dog, but also enjoys a good game of tennis and chatting about books with her book club.

Philly is a sports massage therapist by profession. She lives in Brighton with her young family, and pet hamsters! She loves getting everyone out for a hike on the Downs, equipped with a large flask of hot chocolate. She also enjoys going to the cinema, cooking and keep fit.

Joy is a book keeper by profession. Outside work she values time with family and friends, stays active through tennis and walking and loves to explore new places. In quieter moments, she enjoys reading and solving puzzles.

Originally from the Lake District, Jo moved to Sussex in her early twenties. She has spent the majority of her career as cabin crew for a well-known airline. Jo loves to garden, travel, keep fit and walk her lovely labrador, Poppy.

Elma has worked as a pharmacist in the NHS for over 30 years. She has three grown up daughters and loves spending time with them, when she’s not on her allotment that is! She also enjoys cooking, walking and cycling and is a recent convert to crochet.

Jan has a background in coaching, specialising in stress management and mindfulness. She has grown up sons and two granddaughters. In her spare time she loves cooking healthy food, sea swimming and gardening. She loves a chat in French if the opportunity arises!

Hannah is a qualified Foot Health Practitioner with a gentle touch. She has two young children but when time does allow she loves to get to the beach, potter in the garden, or pop to a cafe for coffee and cake.

Jane started her working life as a mother’s help looking after three small children before moving into healthcare, first as a secretary before transferring into a clinical role. She loves travel and since childhood has travelled far and wide. She enjoys baking, browsing antique shops and a good game of cards.

Sarah is a physio by background, but more recently has been involved in running a design agency. She is also currently doing a masters in Ethics and AI! She has teenage twins so life is busy but when time allows she loves yoga, volleyball and all things sporty.

Vanessa swapped a wanderlust career in travel to work as a Reiki practitioner, spiritual counsellor and minister. She’s equally happy outside in the countryside or inside cooking. She is the mum of a dance-mad teenager and loves a good show!

Lucy has a background in art but more recently has worked in FE supporting students with additional needs. She lives in Brighton with her family and two cats. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, swimming, looking at and practising art.

Janet’s background is in special needs education, and more recently she has worked as an Alexander Technique teacher. She enjoys meeting friends for coffee, reading and gardening. She loves art galleries, especially if they are in Italy!

Zoe lives in Brighton with her partner and silly (her words not ours!) Labrador, Poppy. She worked in the arts for many years before changing gear and supporting autistic young people in education. She loves a cold water swim, even in the depths of winter!

Grace is an oil painter and art teacher by profession, and also works in publishing as an image research and jigsaw puzzle creator. She loves walking on the seafront with her dog, and a spot of sea swimming whenever time allows.

Jo is a local Sussex resident with a passion for travel and adventure. In addition to supporting older people in the community she is a swimming coach, and a very keen open water swimmer to boot. When time allows she loves to be out in local nature, that’s if she’s not off travelling!

Nikki is a yoga teacher and massage therapist and loves helping people to move better! She lives in Saltdean with her young family and their dog, Murph. Nikki loves the great outdoors and is often found with Murph out on the Downs whatever the weather.

Sandie has had a varied career, including as an actress, support worker for students with disabilities, English teacher and business coach. She loves yoga, singing, walks in the countryside, still keeps her hand in with a local theatre company.

Helen has lived in Lewes for twenty years and has her children and grandchildren nearby. She has been supporting people in the community for the past 6 years, although her professional background is in antique restoration and gilding. She loves art and craft and in her spare time can be found doing needlework, listening to music and visiting the odd gallery.

Originally from the north east of England, Andrea is a nanny by background, but more recently has retrained to provide holistic massage and wellbeing treatments. She’s also a busy mum, but when time allows she loves to cycle, read and listen to music, and socialise!

Olivia has spent time working and living in England and France. She has taught English and worked in restaurants, care homes and businesses. As long as she’s working with people she’s happy! She also enjoys cat and dog sitting. For fun she loves to cook for friends and is an avid cinema goer.

Sue worked as an Art Director before moving with her family to Brighton. More recently she’s put her arty skills to use designing and baking wedding and celebration cakes. She loves comedy, art (of course!) and dance, as well as heading down to the beach with her paddle board and Floss the dog.

Sussex born and bred, Robert has been a therapist for over 30 years, specialising in spinal problems. He has also worked in the mental health field. Dad to a budding ‘dance diva’, he loves cooking and baking and is a dab hand at DIY.

Originally from Oz, Mel is now happily settled in Hove with her family and dog. She has a background in media but has more recently worked in the charity and community sectors. She loves being in nature and getting out and about with the family, but also enjoys curling up with a great book!

Hannah has happily returned to Hove after a spell living in France. A craniosacral therapist by background, Hannah is also completing her training to become a counsellor. She loves a seafront walk with her dog, a good book, and best of all cooking for her friends.

Rachele had had an exciting career providing costumes and props for the film industry. She is also a declutterer. She has a teenage family but when time allows she enjoys running, cinema, reading, the arts, and is a passionate protector or the environment.

Julia is a registered nurse and works part-time at a surgery. She’s also a dab hand at decluttering. In her free time she loves to walk her springer spaniel, Millie, sew and indulge her passion for DIY and interiors.

Angela has enjoyed a variety of admin and care roles throughout her working life, and is currently a volunteer counsellor for a hospice. She loves any opportunity to travel, but when on terra firma enjoys walking in nature, swimming and yoga.

Sonia has lived in Lewes for 20 years with her artist husband and two grown up children. In addition to supporting people in the community she has also worked in the arts field representing artists. She loves to cook, read, listen to classical music and sew.

Tracy has had a varied career from banking to supporting people with disabilities and everything in between. She loves her garden and can often be found pottering about caring for her plants. She also loves listening to the radio while attempting a tricky jigsaw!

Snood has a background in events and administration, but more recently became a personal trainer, motivating her clients to get fit and strong. In her own time Snood is an ultra runner and events have taken her across the globe. She also does lots of fundraising and volunteering for charity.

Anna has had a rich and varied working life across the world including catering, property management and driving a taxi. Having settled sometime ago in Hove in her spare time she sings in two choirs, plays tennis, and campaigns for animal rights.

Laura worked for many years in the tourism sector and is currently studying for a degree in podiatry. She is UK born but lived in France and speaks french. She loves a bit of DIY, in addition to cooking, sewing and getting out in nature on her bike whenever possible.

Maggie has worked in catering for much of her life, and then combined catering with care for older people across a range of residential settings. In her spare time she loves to travel, go to the cinema, and is a regular at her gym and yoga classes. Of course she always has a good book on the go too.

Helen studied art and then went on to work in the world of fashion, textiles and design for many years. She’s also worked as a teaching assistant in infant schools. In her spare time she loves to work on anything crafty, especially knitting. She also enjoys music and a good hike.

David, born and bred in Brighton, runs a window cleaning company with Gary. In his spare time he’s seriously into fitness and in particular he loves a weight-lifting challenge.

Amanda’s background includes teaching, film sets, casting, and more recently being front of house at a busy cafe. She has lived in Brighton for 30 years bringing up her four children. She loves to swim and cook when time allows.

Cindy previously worked in finance for many years before making the change and retraining as a gardener. She loves growing vegetables and is very proud of her wildflower meadow which she has been cultivating for the past seven years!

Sara has worked in the events industry for many years, although started her working life in the travel world. She also volunteers for a national cancer charity, and is a wedding celebrant to boot! To relax she loves to sing as part of a gospel choir.

Giorge was an administrator in the NHS for many years and is great at all things admin. She enjoys hunting in charity shops, sunny country walks, gentle yoga and bobbing in the sea, all of which counter her love of all you can eat buffets!  She’s also learning Spanish. Giorge adores cats too.

Lily has worked in a caring capacity all her professional life, including as a nanny, maternity support worker and more recently as a nutrition practitioner. Lily brings her knowledge to the kitchen where she loves to cook healthy and tasty meals. She also loves walking, gardening and the odd spot of shopping.

Originally from the North East of England, Nicola came to Brighton in 1997 and never left. Nicola has worked for much of her life in travel, as cabin crew and more recently as a travel consultant. She loves to bake, watch a good film and catch up with friends over a cuppa.

Verné grew up in South Africa and moved to the UK in 2001. Her background is in HR and travel. When time allows she loves nothing better than a walk in the countryside with her family and a big Sunday roast! She also enjoys gardening, especially propagating her African Violets.

Miranda has been a home help for many years supporting people in her local community, alongside her passion for looking after and riding horses. She also has an older dog and a mad puppy! She loves the outdoors and can often be found running and hiking on the Downs.

Leslie is a yoga teacher and artist and loves to share both these passions with others. After years of extensive travels and life overseas she is happy to be back here enjoying long walks along the coast and south downs.

From Newcastle originally, Annie has now settled in Sussex following a stint in Australia. She has been a professional hairdresser for many years and ran her own salon.  She now enjoys helping people in their own homes. She loves chatting in and out of work, and also enjoys painting and gardening.

Rebecca loves travelling which led to her importing and selling Indian furniture for many years. She also has a passion for antiques and runs a stall in a Lewes antiques shop. She has a busy life with three teenagers but when time allows loves doing anything crafty. And of course walking the family dog.

Jo is a physio by profession but in more recent years has worked as a special needs teaching assistant. Jo has a large family who she loves to see and feed! She also loves gardening, both in her own garden and as a volunteer for a local therapeutic gardening project.

Guy studied furniture design at college and then taught design & technology for 20 years. Having honed his skills developing properties in Sussex Guy has now set up a property maintenance company with his business partner, Pete. When time allows he enjoys a game of cricket and a walk with his dog on the Downs.

Marein lives in Brighton with her teenage family. She is a trained doula, supporting people at the beginning and end of life. She is also a translator and has a passion for languages. To relax she loves to practise yoga, and is often seen around town on her bike.

Christina has enjoyed a colourful career as a professional hair and make up artist for 30 years. With her four children now ‘flown the nest’ she is able to indulge her passions for yoga, visiting friends, walks by the sea and travelling.

Ann has been a support worker for a number of housing associations and charities over the past twenty years. She is also a talking therapist and creative writing teacher. In her spare time she loves a trip to the garden centre and a good film!

Lynn is a pilates and dance teacher by profession and runs a number of sessions for people living with Parkinsons. When she has some downtime she loves dancing (of course!), painting and photography. She also adores anything to do with animals.

Ella is Brighton born and bred. She is a qualified hairdresser and make-up artist. She loves people and so feels it’s the perfect job, whether popping round to someone’s house for a regular trim, or making a bride feel their best on their wedding day.

Jilly is a mum of two and a property developer with a background in finance. She has a passion for food and loves nothing more than cooking and entertaining friends. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor fitness, the cinema and travelling.

Originally from Manchester, Evie has lived in Sussex for over 40 years and loves to be near the sea. She is a sports injury therapist by profession and still gets involved in lots of sport herself, mostly on the golf course. She loves to get the family together whenever time allows.

Claire is a PE teacher by profession and still enjoys every opportunity to be in the great outdoors. She has swum the English Channel for Charity! She loves to travel when time allows around a busy household with three teenage children and the family dog.

Lindsay is a pharmacist by profession, but these days spends much of her time working with a range of charities, including her own veterinary charity in Greece. In her spare time she loves walking with her two dogs, gardening, playing tennis (badly!), and going to the theatre.

Jane is Brighton born and bred. She lives with her young family and enjoys being by the sea to walk and swim. She has worked in the caring world for the last twelve years and loves what she does. When time allows she likes a good quiz and getting down to some art and craft.

Rose has lived in Hove for the past 12 years and loves it! When time allows she enjoys spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors; walking, camping and fitness classes. She is a passionate cook, loves a bit of DIY and is currently learning to make stained glass windows.

Clare has been a support worker for many years, working with older people and also younger people with learning disabilities. She has green fingers, growing her own vegetables, and has taken her love of plants to another level by making her own remedies. She loves art and nature in equal measure.

Paulette has worked in health and social care in a variety of roles. In her spare time she loves to be busy, dog walking or meeting friends for a cuppa. She loves all animals, travel, cooking and eating out, dancing and tennis. But to really relax she says you can’t beat a good murder mystery on the TV!

Bella has spent much of her working life writing and editing, but is also a passionate artist and has run art classes for children for many years. When enjoying some down time she loves to read, listen to music, and get to the odd yoga class.

Michelle works as a part time foot health practitioner and is also a carer for adults with learning disabilities. In her spare time she loves to swim in the sea and explore the French countryside with her husband on their tandem!

Barbara is a potter and also teaches pottery. In her spare time she throws herself into singing and playing music. She loves to meet up with friends and spends much time happily in nature, whether it be in the woods or by the sea.

Elaine’s professional background is in international development so she has travelled far and wide, but is now happy to be Brighton-based, enjoying walks, cooking, fussing over her cats, and when time allows practicing Aikido and doing a bit of crafting.

Cathy, a “champion of domestic life” enjoys baking, sewing and reading, and is passionate about architecture and design. At weekends she relaxes at her beach hut in Hove.

Kris has a background in customer services across a range of interesting organisations, alongside working as a freelance photographer and also gardener. In his spare time he loves to keep fit, and is very interested in nutrition and cooking. He also enjoys travelling.

Christine has lived in Hove for over twenty five years now and still loves it! She worked for an airline for many years but is now happy working locally, walking her dog Barney, reading with her book club, and chatting with friends over coffee and cake.

Lorraine has lived in Portslade all her life and has been hairdressing since she was 16! She still loves her job and meets so many interesting people. When she isn’t busy looking after her teenage children she enjoys getting out for a walk or socialising with friends.

Sharman has spent many years working as a social worker with older people in Brighton & Hove.  She loves living near the sea and walking around the city and its countryside.  Her grandchildren keep her busy, although they are growing up!  Sharman loves swimming, tai chi and reading in her sunny garden.

Tiffany works holistically with dance, yoga and nutrition, but has also worked supporting people in the community. She is passionate about the natural world and loves her spot on the South Downs where she can potter in the garden and relax with friends over a cuppa in the sunshine.

Camille has lived and worked in New York for many years but is back and happily settled in Sussex. She worked in the fashion industry before moving into the community sector. She loves a walk in the sunshine and a spot of photography, or painting and home cooking if the weather isn’t playing ball!

Julia enjoys working with people whatever the role. She has worked in event management, theatre and more recently teaching german to children. She is kept busy looking after her teenage family, but when time allows she loves to dabble in a spot of interior design.

Isabel, a professional actress for many years, is now part way through writing a novel and also training as a health coach. She loves living by the sea with her partner and two cats. Favourite things are nattering with friends over a coffee, or visiting a National Trust garden.

Vibha is mum to two girls who are taller than her! She loves the outdoors and equally a puzzle or a game. She works as a support to mums giving birth and loves reflexology and massage.

Lisa moved to Brighton two years ago with her four adult children (and Dotty the dog!) and can’t imagine being anywhere else now. She loves supporting people in their homes and makes sure that there is plenty of fun to be had, alongside the chores. At home she enjoys baking, board games, crafts, reading and walking.

Steve runs a building, plumbing and decorating company. He loves to run and cycle and is happiest outdoors. He can often be found running the bar at his sons’ school PTA events.

Alexa is a creative sort, from interiors to furniture and jewellery design. She also provides support to women going through menopause. She’s a keen cook, and when family life and work allow she loves to walk her slightly naughty puppy!

A mum to two adult daughters, Stella runs a small landscaping business. Her rescue pup gets her out into the woods, fields or beach most days. She loves cooking and, of course, gardening, as well as reading and writing. And a good chat about current affairs too!

Maran is a biologist by background and spent many years in the world of  healthcare. Nowadays Maran works on the social care side. He is a passionate cook and loves making food for people. When time allows he also loves to cycle and play cricket.

Mandy is a singing & piano teacher, and home-tutor. She also loves singing jazz, travelling (especially to Turkey), walking by the sea and meeting up with friends.

Wendy worked for a high-street bank for 32 years, and has since discovered that there if life beyond banking! She loves reading and jigsaws, and can often be found rambling on the Downs when not looking after her four grandchildren.

Kate lived and worked in Mexico for many years before coming back to Sussex to be near her folks. Much of her professional life has been in property but she origianlly trained as a Norland Nanny and has gone back to her roots as a teaching assistant. She loves life in the countryside with her dogs!

Gail worked in the financial sector for many years before taking time out to raise a family. She has also been the bus driver for a local older people’s charity. She enjoys tennis, coffee and pottering about in the garden alongside her two cats.

Flic is part Swedish, part Italian, but has lived in Sussex for 26 years. She is a massage and reflexology practitioner. She loves gardening, reading, baking, exploring the countryside, especially its pubs, and has never been known to turn down a good Sunday roast!

Originally from Australia, Vic settled in Brighton 13 years ago to bring up her young family. A dress maker by profession, she’s pretty handy with all things practical. In her spare time she likes keeping fit, the odd pub quiz, and catching up with friends and family.

Sheryl lives in Hove with her beloved bulldog, Oscar. Her professional background is in education but she has also volunteered with her local hospice for many years. She loves a good book, a bracing walk and cooking up a feast for friends.

Fiona has worked as a live-in carer and companion for many years and finds it really rewarding. Fiona has also worked in the NHS and taught English to students around the world which enabled her to travel too. She loves to cook, write, and is a passionate lover of nature and natural history.

Gary runs a window cleaning business in Brighton with David, and when he isn’t working or looking after his three children he loves to relax by doing a spot of photography.
