Do you look after someone who couldn’t manage without your help? Particularly during this pandemic we are aware that people are relying on support from friends, family, neighbours etc when previously they had other networks and arrangements in place that currently aren’t up and running. You could be helping a friend, family member or neighbour who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction could not cope without your support. Unpaid carers come from all walks of life and are in different situations. You may be caring for your husband, wife or partner who you live with, looking after a friend or neighbour, you may be a young carer or a son or daughter looking after parents. You could be caring once a day, a couple of times a week or all the time. Carer centres in Sussex offer information, guidance and support to unpaid carers. You can also apply for a free carers card that offers discounts for a range of services and products, as well as other benefits. Do get in touch with your local carers centre and see what support they are able to offer.  Details as follows: East Sussex, Care for the Carers Phone: 01323 738390, email: info@cftc.org.uk website: https://www.cftc.org.uk West Sussex,  Carers Support West Sussex Phone: 0300 028 8888, email: info@carerssupport.org.uk, website: www.carerssupport.org.uk; Brighton & Hove, Brighton & Hove Carers Centre Phone: 01273 746222, email: info@thecarerscentre.org, website: www.thecarerscentre.org
